18x9.5 or 18x10

Im trying to order a set of rims. 2008 E92 Xi. The manufacturer is recommending a 9.5 in the rear.....cant we comfortably fit a 10" with a 265/35 on it ???????

Yes generally 265/35/18 is just fine on 18x10. Depending on th offset you might need to do some fender modification.

I will soon have 255/35/18 on 18x10.5

I'm not sure what you'd "need" a 10" wide rear wheel if you're going to be running a 265/35. I'm running a 9.5" wide rear with that same tire size and it fits the rim perfectly. No stretching at all and more rim protection.

Assuming the 9.5" wheel shares the same ET, that's a lot of trouble for 4-6mm of concave increase.
