Is JBL MS-8 on stock OEM speakers good enough?

For any level sound system from base to Logic. Could I just run my stock system with MS-8 for now?

I know upgrades are always better but when there isn't enough money for now, can I just use that processor for the mean time, isn't that enough treble/mid-bass/bass?

For better results add a coaxial center speaker with the MS-8 as the replacement of the OEM amp. It will sound significantly better than the OEM amp even with the OEM speakers.

Just make sure that the MS-8 that you get is new and with factory warranty.

I have Hi-Fi so a center speaker is out of the equation. So the MS-8 will be my replacement amp? I thought MS-8 wasn't an amp. Would I need any harnesses from you?

You can add a center channel to a hi-fi system. It just requires some additional parts/wiring.

The MS-8 has 8 channels of amplification built in.

I know I'd just rather use whatever parts I have than adding.

So I use the MS-8 to replace the OEM amp and suppose I use Jehnert subs instead of SWS, Technic harnesess, stock headunit and stock tweeters/door speakers.

I should be happy enough yes? This set up really is just temporary.

I meant to add a center speaker to the HiFi system: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=477443

The MS-8 is a processor/DSP and an 8-channel amp. Search for details.

Please PM is you need a PnP MS-8-to-HiFi swap harness.

If you upgrade the subs you will need more power

The ms-8 does not have that much power if you look at the numbers.
If you want to do a simple up grade to the fronts and under seats and add
and amp. You can add a center speaker, but if you just want a better conventional system you can do that to without adding a center speaker.
or an ms-8 or other processor.
You should read this.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641323

look at entry 4 for Hi Fi upgrade examples.

It details many examples of the Hi Fi upgrade many of which are examples
of Technics design . Most of the time he is putting in at least a 4 channel amp
to upgrade the front doors and floors.
Upgrading the front doors and floors and adding an amp still gives you the potential to add a processor later if you want and will give a really good result in the meantime for a Hi Fi System.

The MS-8 Logic7 processor works better with a center channel, but it is optional.

Ooops I corrected that

I was wondering why you are pushing the ms-8 lately as a first solution for
a Hi Fi system?
I guess that was his first question in this case.
Does the Op have Hi Fi or base he is somewhat unclear on this?
He says base to start with then he says Hi Fi later?

"For any level sound system from base to Logic"
"I have Hi-Fi so a center speaker is out of the equation."
These systems have different solutions which is it?
Since you have an 07 its either Hi Fi or L7

Sorry I was trying to help

I have Hi-Fi, I was pushing for MS-8 bcuz I don't have enough money to upgrade all speakers. There was a mini-movie by JBL I guess showing the "wave lengths" from stock then adding the MS-8.

The point remains, the MS-8 is a valid option (there are others) to upgrade ANY of the OEM systems. It does well with all, even L7 and the power is "good enough" for many.

OP - Did you install the MS-8?

If you did the install, how did it go? How would you rate the sound difference on a scale of 1-10 (10 being much better)?

I am considering doing this upgrade but it's difficult to get feedback on those with HiFI, that only upgrade with the MS-8.

Also for those who know, is the center speaker wiring already in the dash if you wanted to add a center speaker to the HiFi system along with the MS-8?

Thanks! - Brian
