I think Charlie has done that with Riss Racing downpipes (test model).

I think this is what LeftCoastMan has done. Hit him up. It's not a bad idea...really.....considering the problems walkedu has had with the bad sound since removing all the restrictive stuff.

Well I did straight pipes with no joining parts. Its really the esinemann mufflers I think. When I had no restrictions with the magna flows. It sounded really droney inside the cabin. Kinda sounded farty but wasnt as all that bad with the metallic sound up top.

Some good high flows should help. Maybe even the euro spec downpipes might help. I know on the m3 that the euro cats are a lot less restrictive. So maybe its the same with the 335i. If I get in the mood to mess around with the exhaust again Ill try the euro dp's but as for right now Im content until anthony / adam ask me to try out the final product RR DP's.

Yup - high flow catted DPs stock exhaust with secondary cats. Whistles a bit at low rpm but nothing too annoying. It also burbles a bit on decel, but I haven't seen flames shoot out the back yet, lol.

Keep in mind I only care about performance and actually prefer not being any louder.

Spoolup is much faster. In fact, I pulled some data from the PROcede pre/post and the slope of the boost vs. rpm curve is 2x steeper than before, implying spoolup that is twice as fast.

I would really like to find out this for a fact. If euros flow better, maybe I won't even need aftermarket downpipes.

4th gear pull - same location, similar temps, sweeping from 1300rpm to 4000 rpm.

The area of the boost curve that is of interest is the initial spoolup, so the slope is measured from 1300 to ~2700rpm

I can definitely feel the faster spoolup - but wanted to objectively measure to make sure I wasn't fooling myself b/c I paid so much for them!

No plans to remove 2nd cats. (1) Don't want more noise (2) I want my kids to be able to take a deep breath without hacking up a lung.

LOL I would love to see a 335 shooting flames, but with all that technology (i.e. Direct Injection) and the fact it has a MAP sensor and not a MAF I think we would have a bit of a hard time trying to get it to do something...
