Front Drive Shaft Replacement

Looking to replace my front Drive Shaft due to the universal joints being shot.

Reading in the Bentley manual you can only replace the drive shaft as a whole. Got 2 questions if anyone is familiar with such a job..

1) When replacing with a NEW front drive shaft, there is no alignment procedure, correct? Like as compared to when you reinstall the original one marking at the flanges for proper alignment.

2)The bentley doesn't mention anything about the TC and front diff leaking oil or topping off when removing the shaft. ANy thoughts?

Thanks!

its simple-just unbolts from flanges at the transfer case and front diff so no fluid lost.

Heres an update since I hate reading threads without questions answered...

replaced it because it was making a metallic clank sound and sqeek, the old u joints were shot upon further inspection after removal.

No fluid loss as stated above. I found a used front drive shaft from an auto salvage yard locally for cheap and very little miles on it. Took like an hour to do, jacked the front of the car up put jack stands under to have the front wheels rotate, removed the splash guard and stiffening plate. Unbolted old, marked how it came off, then marked the new one to put in the same way and bolted that back in. Had a buddy press the brakes to help remove and tighten the bolts as the shaft would spin. Test drove with no issues with balancing it. I was worried at first bc the replacement shaft had weights on it while the old one didnt but all worked out fine.
