Question about installing tweeters to base system
So I have the base system, and I have an amp in the back for my subwoofers only. The front upgraded speaker mids are running base sound output. In order to install tweeters will I need to run an amp for the front? Also how would I go about doing so? Do I need to tap into the stock head unit, and run new wires everywhere?

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641323 Especially the part about upgrading the base system. To add an amp for the doors/underseats buy a Technic Harness. If you buy a set of component speakers for the the front doors they will come with a crossover that can be mounted in the door which means you can run off the factory wiring through the door as long as you don't use more power than the wires will handle. Also you can buy the front door OEM tweeter mounts from BMW for about 35 bucks us per side. If you are upgrading the base system you will have problems making tweeter/door speakers sound right without a frequency flattening device or processor . (See above link on base system mods) |
