Is there any probability I might have the optical out in my HU if it's just one-dvd stereo (1 tray for either satnav DVD or music CD), 6 speakers (2 coaxials in the front doors, 2 woofers under the seats, 2 rear speakers in the rear shelf), iDrive and business satnav (not widescreen like in Professional satnavs)?

Thanks, guys. Will check it out soon. As if there's no digital output in the HU, I don't see any sense in adding a processor: taking EQ'd analog signal from HU, convert it to digital, then convert it to analog again. Would be mess, I guess.

There are loads of units that take the EQ'd hi level input and give you a flat, clean low level out. But I am sure your car has optical out. Have you got bluetooth, dab, usb or cd changer? If yeah to any of them you have optical out. |

You think so? I've got basic 6-speaker (2 coaxial doors, 2 underseats, 2 rears) base system, 1-dvd, business nav, the car is 2008; I've got bluetooth, DAB, USB (iPod/iPhone integration, if I understand what that means; I can play and control my iDevice on the central nav display, incl. playlists, songs, artists, etc.) So you think there is a possibility to take the signal in the digital form out of my HU, init? |

Yeah.
You need your head unit coded for top hifi, so logic7 on many coders kit in the UK (thinking Autologic coding). You then splice into the most bus ring with a mObridge and that will give you a pre out. |
