You can try (I found the entry in another forum)

KOMBI > CC_TEMPERATURWARNUNG

It will probably say "nicht_aktiv".
Allegedly this setting is reversed from what you think it should be - "aktiv" turns it off.

I haven't tried this code, so I don't know if it disables the entire feature or just the noise. I'm thinking it disables the entire feature, but not sure.

Personally, I drive where the temperature can change by 4 degrees or more from departure to arrival - I sometimes appreciate the noise when it comes on while I'm driving to let me know I could expect wet or slushy roads to turn icy.

I do however wish I could upload or somehow NETTODAT a new Gong noise! Very bad choice of sounds.

Hey dolu57. NETTODAT is just another (less convenient, more low-level) way of coding your car, that's all. I think the "gong" noise for *anything* is annoying... I wish I could change it to something else, like you can on cell phones and stuff.

Good luck with your temperature gong disable.

Your English is fine, Monsieur!

I'm no coding pro, but if you explain your error more - what you were trying to code, and also give the group the ERROR LOG - there are skilled members who can help.

A quick search on coapi-1043 seems to mean you either have a bad NCS version or more likely you are trying to code something using an invalid action word (aktiv, nicht_aktiv, soft_, hart_... etc) for your chassis type. Impossible to tell I think, without the ERROR LOG (VIEW > CABI.ERR and ERROR.LOG).

Thanks monsieur bmermeup.

As you say, i think i've write an invalid action word, and i don't think i have a bad version of ncs because i have already coded good the module with the error.

I am not able to locate the error.log and cabi.err... Where are they? Google doesn't help me...

Don't bother yourself, it doesn't work. No one found working way to disable 'cold chime'.

Further to this note, I checked further and apparently this coding only works to disable it on E46 machines. Bummer.

In that case, I have another "guaranteed" method, but it is temporary (it resets itself once a year) and can sometimes take about 6 months or so before it takes effect...

Sure! I'm glad you asked!

The GUARANTEED method for "ensuring your Frost Warning Gong is disabled for about 6 months, but needs to be reset and sometimes takes 6 months to take effect..." is... wait for Spring.

I know. I'm an idiot.
(c'est une blague... je m'excuse.)

by chance, I found this line in KOMBI:
AUSSENTEMP_ANZ_FEHLER_1 - OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DISPLAY FAULT 1 (LOWER LIMIT)
wert 1 -> data= 18
wert 2 -> data= 52
wert 3 -> data= 36

what do you think about this? good way?
