Help with package from bc motos

Hi all I'm after some help with a spoiler I have ordered from bc motos. It's at FedEx depot in stanstead but have emailed to ask for receipt. Why is this? Bc motos put as gift on package. How can I avoid the custom charges?

Thanks

It's the luck of the draw. Some get through, others get snagged.

It will be about £15 then you will have a lovely little extra sitting at the rear

I was lucky - as I got away without paying any duty!

Actually - the duty is only a few quid.... it's FedEx = they charge you £10 on top for the admin, no matter what value the custom charges are!

OP, obviously there is no invoice with the spoiler! Just reply saying its a gift (hence no invoice) & the value is only $5!

Garage List
I got caught out with customs on mine too.
Nothing you can do apart from pay it I'm afraid. Will only be around £17.
Still a bargain overall for the spoiler of you ask me!

I had tickets for the F1 out in Singapore delivered to me last week.

I was surprised I had to pay VAT and duty since the tickets are of no use in the UK

After explaining what they were and they were going straight back out the country, this made no difference.

Import duty and VAT sucks!

Import duty and VAT sucks!
I'm no VAT expert but that sound's wrong. VAT is chargeable at point of supply and since the tickets only represent an intention to supply, and not actual supply of the service itself, then VAT should not be payable.

My package says 'available for custom clearance' when I contacted fedex they said they were not happy that the price marked was what it was actually was, so I have had to email them a screen shot of what I paid,
And it's still held in customs!
Spoiler looks good mine is also lemans blue
