Protecting Satin black paint on rear diffusor
Hi,
Looking for some advice on what i can do to protect my rear diffusor. I have the 335is rear diffusor, but opted to have the entire peice painted satin black. My concerns are protection against fading, and keeping things looking nice. I thought about using some 303 Aerospace protectant on it, but figured i would ask for some advice from the guru's. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks! |

I've coated my entire car with Gtechniq Exo v2 including the diffuser. It does not mess with the satin finish. Most of the coatings on the market will not alter satin or matte finishes. Cquartz, Opticoat, 22ple are amongst the popular coatings. Wax or sealants are perfectly fine but do not offer protection as long as the 2 years most coatings have to offer. You may need to reapply wax every 2 months or 3-4 months for sealants. 303 Aerospace protectant will definitely suffice, but most spray wax/sealants do not have the longevity as liquid/paste wax/sealants.
Suggestions Wax: -Collinite 845 or 476 lasts as long as many sealants, but it is not the easiest wax to apply and remove -Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax is very easy to use and won't break the bank Sealant: -BlackFire Wet Diamond is extremely user friendly, a little bit pricier, but worth it Coatings (set it and forget it!): -Gtechniq Exo v2 one of the slickest coatings on the market -Gtechniq C1 extremely hard coating, high resistance against scratching -Cquartz rivals the slickness of Exo v2 -Opticoat advertises that it lasts the lifetime of your car. -22ple (no experience) |

Thank you for the detailed response!
I have a few options for sealants/waxes, i thought it wouldnt be good to use on the satin finish because i want it to remain matte, not glossy. I'll have to play around with it and see how things look. |
