Good Time To Sell E92's with 4Series Coming Out?! Your Thoughts :)

Hi Guys

Just wanted to share a thought.

With the new 4 series set to replace the E92 3 Series Coupes do you reckon its a good time to sell (i.e. do you think the resale on E92's will nose dive early next year?)

I got my 2007 (57-efficient dynamics) BMW 320d E92 in Jan 2013 for approx £11k, I wouldnt like to take a massive hit on resale, realistically what do you reckon I would get for in next year, £9k? Its an M sport 75kmiles with the rear lip spoiler with a remap and to be honest is in excellent condition (no used car salesman talk honest) Full bi-xenons FSH mainly BMWSH bla bla bla Pics below

Thanks Guys!

i dont think your car is new enough to be massively effected by the 4 series. E92 that are upto a few years old will take the biggest hit because they are closer to new price.
Dont think your car looks overpriced at £9000, make sure you specify theres no issue with the rims, as this will be a concern to any potential buyer who has done their home work. Lack of leather will filter out many potential buyer unfortunately, but theres always people who arnt too bothered. Nice colour and looks clean.

It's a diesel. I wouldn't worry about it.

Everyone (with the exception of a small minority!) has diesel fever in the UK.

When I was trying to sell my mint (and I mean mint!) 52 plate e46 330 sport, I had not one bite on it.

Also decided to sell the ok but a bit rough round the edges 03 plate Peugeot 307 HDi, and within an hour I'd had 3 calls.

Reason? It's a diesel. People see any diesel car as an instant money saving, regardless of if they do any mileage in it or just totter round to Sainsburys and back.

I doubt it will impact your car massively. It will impact much newer cars, especially anything that are pre-regged, but for 5/6 years old it will just be a case of prices falling a little extra, maybe £100 more than usual a month. Barely noticeable and certainly not a nose dive.

TBH the 4 series will already be being priced in from 6 months ago. People are well aware that a new model is coming out hence dealers doing crazy 3 series deals.

A 2007 E92 is already considered the older model due to the LCI in 2010 so the prices were hit then rather than now when the F32 is launched. At the end of the day, cars lose money, just enjoy the car you have.

the new one I suspect will end up substantially more expensive then the outgoing e92. when I first saw the e92 I just had to have one, looking at the 4 series I don't have the same feeling and for me ill give it a miss, the e92 is a classic, the late ones have already taken a big hit on prices so don't think the introduction of the new car will have much impact
