speaker not working

I installed an xd600/6 a while back. between then and now the passenger door speakers stopped working, no sound what so ever.

I've bought new speakers, and just installed them (sail tweeters, and door woofers) and again no sound comes from them. When I measure the volts that come out of the wiring harness, I don't get a voltage reading.

Now I'm thinking my amp has blown. Is this even possible for an xd600/6? the rear speakers work on that side, and so does the sub. It makes me think that it has to do with wiring or something else.

What do I do now?

Any help at all will be helpful.

Thanks

Patrick.

Measure the resistance from the amp outputs to the speakers.

Measure the resistance from the amp outputs to the speakers.
For a Hi Fi System it should be around 2 ohms .
If its higher by a significant amount the speakers could be damaged
or the burnt open.
You can measure right at the amp output terminals with the amp off.

The resistance of the speakers will vary depending on the BMW system you
started out with some of the systems have 4 ohm speakers also in the case
of the base systems the doors are in parallel with the floors.

Update:
I swapped in my OEM amp for a quick test. Lo and behold all speakers work. This now leaves the wire harness adapter and amp.

I re-tighten all the screws on the amp, making sure all contacts work. Suddenly all speakers work. I reinstall the amp into the proper spot and the front left speakers stop working again.

I swap the front right output with the front left output, now the problem follows the swap - ie the front rights now don't work.

Answer: Amp has a blown output channel.

Anyone know how to get an amp fixed in Canada? It's a JL XD600/6....
