Alcantara trim

Rather than wrap my interior trim with the steel vinyl wrap I originally thought about doing, I changed my mind back to wanting to wrap the trim panels in carbon vinyl, but I keep having second thoughts about it. I really want to match the rest of my car with my f30 performance shift knob because it would bother me if my car wasn't uniform inside like it is right now with the perforated leather you get with the M sport package.

So, after looking at the shift knob and to rather try wrapping the trim in cf vinyl, what about wrapping the trim pieces in alcantara? Has anyone done this?

Quite a few people have done it and I think it can look amazing. If you're getting it to match BMW's alcantara the color code is 9002 I belive.

Here!

Yes, micro suede or ultra suede are supposed to be the same as alcantara.

It's similar but different. I have an Alcantara wrapped armrest and it's different than the synthetic suede used on the shift/ebrake boot from Bimmian. It's very close, but the texture is different. The stuff from Joann's is close as well, I've used it in the past. Just keep in mind that some of it is not UV resistant and if it's on an area that's exposed to lots of sun, it may fade. They do make automotive grade synthetic suede, but I don't think Joann carries it. I had to go by a wholesale automotive upholstery shop to get it for my other car a while back.
