Instead of going to the self car wash. I recommend this http://www.chemicalguys.com/Chemical..._p/wac_107.htm
All you need is a 1/2 gallon pump spray from home depot and a few microfiber, it roughly takes 20-30 of your time. I use it in between car washes and looks great. Perfect in the winter time |

Any wash can leave swirl marks. But keep in mind this type of wash is not meant for heavily soiled vehicles, only a frequent wash as stated above
Some tips for reducing swirls, anyone can add if I missed something -Spot treat heavily soiled areas (bird bombs, bug splatter, road grime). Dedicated products are preferable but can be substituted for a detailer or thicker mixed wash solution -use a separate bucket for rinsing your media during washes, preferably one with a grit guard. Rinse often and soak media if it becomes too dirty -wash in straight lines, horizontally and vertically where able. A straight marring is much less noticeable than circular marring (or swirls) -Keep your washing and drying media sealed. large specialty ziplocks can be bought off any detailing site for cheap |

As AlexTopFitment suggested should not do it if heavily soiled. As I explain i do it in between wash so my car is very lightly soiled. I carry a squirt bottle of the solution in the trunk for spot cleaning.
