Which Bulbs? E90 LCI Halogen Headlights
Hi there,
I'm about to pull the trigger on a set of E90 LCI Halogen Headlights for my Pre-LCI E90 so i can have the much desired Angel eyes. However, one thing i am struggling to figure out is what type of bulbs to use. I was looking at the bulbs from LUX. But at £120, it ain't exactly cheap for a set of bulbs. Furthermore, i just realized that i will also have to replace my headlight bulbs as well otherwise it would just end up looking silly with white angel eyes and amber headlights lol. So with that being said, can anyone point me in the right direction for a good set of angel eye bulbs and headlight bulbs for the E90 LCI Halogen Headlights. Thanks . |

I use Philips X-treme Vision H7's for the headlight bulbs, they were highly recommended on here and I like them too. They're not white though, better than most but still yellowish. As for the angel eye LED's all I can say is don't buy some £40 eBay ones like I did, they threw up a CAN BUS fault after about a month on my car and they don't fade up/down as the stock bulb. I've switched back to standard angel eye bulbs now.

I too went with the Philips X-treme Vision H7's.
They are good, but definitely not white. Still very much a yellow ting to them. Like you have already said, no point having White AE's with yellow headlights. I couldn't be bothered to buy another set of bulbs to try get true white headlights, so gave up on the white AE's. Just made peace with the Yellow... my next car will have Xenons! |

Live with the corona rings. You can't see them anyway. If you must have white rings then get a set of used xenons.
I like my yellow rings. They do the job, are understated and don't attract attention. And if they were white the car would go no faster. WM |

H7 Ring Ultima Xenons here (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=756240), I was impressed with the improvement, whiter but not xenon white - to get it that white you need blue tinted which decreases light output.
Got some 20w leds markers in mine (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...2&postcount=14), flicker on start up, but they do the job |

I wanted to go down the xenon retrofit route but after doing a little research, i found that it would probably end up costing over £1000 for a full retrofit. Definitely don't want to spend that kind of money.
@Dizzle What bulbs are you using for your headlights? I assume they project a white light as well? |
