I was about to order this morning a Wagner IC but..... I was thinking that maybe I could make , with the help of a good performance/track shop here in Montreal a good air to water intercooler therefore removing any heat-soak from our system. What do you all think?
Wagner IC cost approx. 600-700$+ install which is fairly easy. A custom air to water IC would easily be in the 1800-2000$ but would be even more benefic.

I'd prefer the air to air. My Shelby is air to water and personally I wouldn't want the excess weight for marginal to no gain. The size of the heat exchanger is still of a concern, surface area is what counts in both setups. Add to that the complexity of the plumbing, and weight of the additional coolant, pump, and separate reservoir for the additional coolant, its gains (if any) are overshadowed by cost and weight.

on a side note, there is a difference between water/air intercoolers and water/air intercoolers using an ice box. The former is usually used to cool the super hot air coming out of a positive displacement supercharger which often doesnt have any charge piping running around the engine bay like a turbo or centrifugal supercharger does, so the only real choice is to run it through a water/air intercooler. Unfortunately for those systems, the air temperature can never really get below coolant temperature, typically 150-200F. Water/air using an ice box is great, but not a realistic solution for a daily driver car unless you want to carry an ice chest in the trunk and stop constantly to refill the ice.

I would suggest if anything connect air from A/C thru intake system, I asume it would be dumb but who knows it might work LOL

Exactly we're not running an F1R procharger, with an icebox in our passenger seats. Good for racecars, not so much for a street car.

Ford did this on the Gen III Lightning concept truck, it was a supercooler function for the intercooler.

"The 32-valve supercharged engine uses patented ‘SuperCooler’ technology. Perhaps it should be called ‘SuperCooletti’ after SVT chief engineer John Coletti who both heads Ford SVT and patented the SuperCooler design himself. Coletti came up with a very practical way to provide a burst of power by using the truck’s air conditioning compressor to chill a small storage tank of coolant to 30-degrees Fahrenheit and then dump this coolant right into the supercharger’s intercooler with the touch of a button. The result is a 20% drop in air temperature that creates a higher density of air by volume for better combustion and higher horsepower - around 50-hp more for up to 30 to 40 seconds at wide-open throttle."

Here's the Gen III Lightning Concept from 2003:
