Amazing, just amazing. A mid sized luxury car that gets better fuel economy than a Jetta.

I love my 425tq, but I'd happily take a less in order to get 45 mpg (getting around 33 now)

For a split second I thought you were talking about the ford E250 van.

Just read about this yesterday: E250 BlueTec models are powered by a 195-hp 2.1-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder mated to the same seven-speed automatic as all E-Class models.
AND e250 Bluetec is cheaper by $500 VS e350 base gas model.

MBs are not my cup of tea unless it's an AMG model. Their exterior designs are a snooze fest.

Awesome MPG on that E250 though!

Yeah well it's no 6cyl. Powered by a twin turbo, not as much torque nor power nor fun to drive as our 335d!
I would buy one for my wife (MB) instead and use it to travel from time to time

i think it's got around 360 tq - still plenty. The drive has gotten better - less floaty, more involved. I'll go try 1 of those when they're out

i drove in the current one either e350 or something. The car is quite big, if you need the back seat its great vs our 3 series. However the power is quite dismal and you feel like a normal car trying to pass at speed and such.
for sure more turbo lag, but didn't seem that noticeable.
Coming from a 'normal' car it is a nice car with lots of neat options you can get in the E class. Coming from power it is dissapointing, but so will the 45+mpg BMWs coming out. You just can't get that kind of mileage from this much displacement and power, you have to choose.
