Help! ABS, Brake light came on

Hi everyone,

I have a 2008 328i with 18k miles. All of a sudden the Brake, ABS and Warning light came on. This came on last month for 2-3 days and went away since. However, today the light came on again. Any ideas?

Those 3 lamps/indicators generally come on when there's something wrong with DTC/DSC modules. If it was an odd occurrence, I'd forget about it (happened to me once in the winter) but since this has come up again, I'd get it checked out.

You could read thru my many posts about warning lights. My issue ended up being a faulty power distribution box. I had every single warning light go off. Id say ignore it for now. It may go away as quickly as it came. You can potentially spend bookoo $$$$ trying to diagnose it.

hey guys i got hit on the driver side and had to replace suspension. now i have the triangle and circling arrow on, brakes, and tire sensor.. i will be changing my brakes this weekend with rotors, sensors, etc..
would the triangle be a Wheel speed sensor on the driver sid (front)?

i also hav vibration while braking and thats why im changing rotors, my car is past due for brakes so i figured vibration could be due to the rotors being bad.

Diagnostic came out to error code

5DF0
5DF1

The computer that diagnosed the error code wasn't from a BMW specialty shop. Would it make a difference if I brought it in a shop that specializes in BMW's with a BMW computer scanner?

Please advise.

Might I suggest that your battery is low or needs replacing?

When my battery was dying, it was a light show just like yours, and only replacing the battery fixed the issue (car was cranking slowly as well).

When i went on vacation for 3 weeks in June, I came back to the same light show with my new (year-ish since installed) battery. After highway driving to work for 2 days, no more lights, as it was charged during those drives.

+1

Bmw even has a "repair kit" for this.

At first I thought my car was just acting up, but after a trip to the dealer, that's what they said was wrong with it. Not sure what it really does, ha.

But I got it fixed under warranty, but is a $1200-1400 part I am pretty sure.

I have an 08 328i and happened to me around 45-50k.

Update
There are 2 part numbers for these units
34506777164 this is for later model 2007 and on
and
34506777160 this is for early model 2007 models
I don't know if they are interchangeable

I have the same codes

AllBlackBimmer where is this repair kit you referenced? I have not been able to source one.

Warren8959
You must have another car or cars, I currently don't since I just sold my M3's so what was turn around time. I might have to go north and bring another car down as the savings 500 bucks is worth it.

bummere90
Nice contribution to the forum. This is just what I need for the codes I got which are the same as yours and keep coming back when cleared.
