Does anyone know if this would be a upgrade or downgrade to the stock 2012 335i brake system for a e92?

The rotors look pretty beat up with what looks like something dropped and indented in to rotor.

Despite being prettier it would be a downgrade to 335i calipers.

You do realize a bbk won't help you stop any shorter? It's purely for looks on a street car.

not necessarily true, I recently installed my BBK and I've noticed that I have been stopping faster and shorter

Sorry to tell you but that's absolutely wrong. Any difference in braking characteristics is attributable to change in brake pad, ie whatever came with tht bbk which presumably could've been achieved by just changing to that pad with your stock brakes. Your stopping power isn't limited by your brakes but rather your tires. The purpose of a bbk is to fend off brake fading which is something you would never encounter on the street. At most the larger rotor might help a bit but you could've up sized rotors without going to a bbk.
