E90 ebox removal

Following a bit of fault finding I think ive cracked why my ebox is getting full of water. Don't know where the water is coming from yet but the ebox has a water release valve stuck in the bottom of it!
The integrity of the ebox against water ingress is obviously not a consideration to bmw, otherwise, why the valve?

This valve is obviously faulty, but to get to it to fix/replace I need to remove the DME and associated electrical items from the ebox.

Can anyone let me know if disconnecting everything is going to require any specific re-coding etc once I connect everything back up??
Or even if its possible to lift the whole wiring loom/components/carriers out of the ebox to provide access without having to disconnect everything?

Cheers
