M3 Style Mirrors
Just came across these while flicking through eBay. Always wanted a set of M3 mirrors, but didn't like the price of genuine ones.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Unpainted-...item485b24bc43 Pretty cheap, and only thing I could see to be done would be to get them painted or covers for them. Read a bit at the end though saying no motors. I'm assuming that's the motors to adjust the position of the glass and not for folding? Anyone know if my current motors will be compatible?

It's just a new front back housing! You'll have to dismantle your current mirrors & just replace the housing!
It's very simple as I changed mine over (not to these) as it had scratches! |

These do look good. Wonder if carbon caps will fit on these?

Yeh, here's carbon one. bit more expensive, but probably around the same price as if you were to buy the normal ones and then carbon covers.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E90-E9...item485ae46f9c Do you mean they're solid as in you can't fit other covers on them, or that they cant have the motors fitted?

Ahh thanks, didn't see your reply there. So it should be a simple changeover then hopefully?

I would buy these now... But i could NEVER live without my electrical, auto dipping mirrors...
If these functions can be retrofitted, then this is a great option! But i highly doubt that is possible. I think someone on here bought these ages ago, but in the end, bought some genuine m3 mirrors as he felt like he was living in the stone age lol |

I fitted mine today, I'll get some pics up.
Mine aren't folding like my originals, I would've loved to retrofit them but just couldn't afford how much they were going for. I paid £300 for a set in alpine white so no need for respray. |

I do not have electric folding mirrors... and i can live without them, but i need everything else... I sent the seller a message to see if it is possible to retain these features if they were retrofitted... |

Mine came with exactly the same number of plugs as my old ones so I assume all the features are the same. I'm waiting on a new rad pipe so will get a chance to drive it tomorrow hopefully to check that. |

be aware of substantial import tax and handling charges (the buggers charge you to open and repack the item!!) if you buy from asia ive been caught out twice and now wont buy anything from there. its best by far to source s/h originals just be patient they do become available and are the nuts.

I received a message from the seller of the ebay rep m3 mirrors.
His Reply to my message "Dear Josh, You can use your current motors with these M3 style mirrors + polarized mirrors to perform an electric functions for your reference. Best regards, - bemotor" But can you really believe them... Who wants to take the plunge |

Alex? who had the blue m3 rep 325 on here bought the rep mirrors which I offered to buy off him a few months ago but he warned me off them saying that they were crap!
It seems like you have to butcher your old mirrors which isnt ideal. OEM or don't bother IMO |

You're changing the housing - so the motors in the actual until will still work!
Your current mirror housing are just held in place with screws! I dismantled my auto folding ones I purchased as they were screws & replaced them with the housing on the non folding mirrors: Resulted in: |

I was going to go ahead and buy them, until I thought it'd be a good idea checking about the motors in here.
If it is simple to hook them up without having to butcher the original mirrors I'd still be keen on getting them. I don't think my standard ones are anything fancy as they aren't electric folding, think they auto dim but that's maybe it.

Don't buy from that company. My diffuser came and was damage, and fitment was so wrong. Seller never repsonded and i got paypal invoiced. Sends a dogdy address for return ( i copy and past on googlemap and shows nothing) Ebay will only refund my total cost include shipping ,however seller would'nt reply when i demand my return shipping to be paid back to me.
