anyone know wth happened?

i finally put 3000 miles on my car and after i filled my my tank, my "service engine soon" light came up....

make sure you click the gas cap twice when you put it back on, my salesman made a point of telling me this over and over and over when I was picking up the car.

i have 28XXX miles on my car and my service engine soon came on. i drove 50 miles on it and it turned off. anyone have their light come up?

It's impossible to determine what's wrong with the car when the CEL comes on with no further detail. The CEL simply states that something is wrong with the car, you'd need to get the code pulled to go into more depth.

hahahaha thanks for the advice... ill go go check my gas cap right now... i put 20miles on since i saw the light turn on and it's still on

Mines came on before around 20K and the dealer took care of it. The came on again earlier this month at around 36K and I took it in, but it came back on again 2-days later. I have another appt. scheduled for this Tues. with a loaner reserved.

For me it came up at 2k miles. Dealer replaced the DMTL pump. It seems to be a common issue for E90.

Dealer said that if it is the fuel cap, it should go away within 5 days.

blah... i just wasted gas driving around hoping it would go away... i guess it's off to camerillo dealership to see whats up

LOL yep, today I just got my DTML pump replaced again. It's the second time in less than a year.
