cc id 41 for brake fluid service
What goes into the service is it just a brake fluid flush? Or something different?

Generally yes and since BMW had the design changed on the ABS modulator in 2006 it also gets flushed when the brake fluid is exchanged.
You can do the same thing with either a vacuum bleed or a pressure bleed... |

Okay is there a brake bleeder machine? (Specific to bmw) or is it a straight bleeding with a wrench and catch bottle?

you can do either but the key is don't get ANY air in the system. don't let the reservior get low on fluid. if you have a manual, you'll need to bleed the clutch too.

You can do either a vacuum bleed with a vacuum can called Topsider
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...FTJp7Aodq14ACw or you can do Motive brand which comes with the correct BMW (and many foreign car) caps. I have used both extensively they both work well. I like Motive better for a one man application since all you do is fill the container and pressurize the bottle pumping it up to over 10 psi then go break the bleeder screw loose until new fluid comes out. Here you go http://www.motiveproducts.com/ You might have to pump the bottle up a couple times as you drain all 4 wheel cylinders but it works very well... |
