Gotta love camber :/ ... Toe problems!

Put these tyres on in April & they're more than dead! Probably around 5000 miles or so covered.
Front's are still perfect and were all put on at the same time.

Put new rears on yesterday and went today to get all 4 wheels aligned.
I know camber obviously causes a lot of premature wear on the inner side of the tyres. But as most of us are aware, it's the toe that does the most damage.

After slamming the car & maxing out camber I never got the alignment done, which was stupid.. so the toe was wayyyy out.
Asked the guy to put the toe to 0 all round, may not be the best for handling, but it's only a 320d that I don't drive fast, & the height it's at with wheel fitment, 0 toe would be the best.

He said he couldn't put it to 0 though cause the arms wouldn't go any further..

Is this guy right.. or should you be able to put it to 0? :S

If you have gone that low you may be on the maximum adjustment on standard arms!

Big camber and toe was the norm in my previous car scene and anything more than 50mm lower and the standard arms where maxed(200sx)!i had both after market toe and camber as fitted!

So basically what I'm saying is highly likely ice is being truthful!

Aftermarket toe arms?!

AS said above, when i slammed my TT i had to buy aftermarket ajustable Toe arms. These will be needed to correct this.

Never thought about having to get aftermarket toe arms. Cheers for the input!

There may be an offset bush option for toe on the bmw!

I have never looked into it but they do it for a lot of cars as well as arms!

lol OUCH but not having them adjusted was a little silly haha

You should have flipped them before they got too bad.

Oh well.. all done.

I am sure the crazy lads who go low in the states always get adjustable toe arms too...?

As said, try and get tyres that can at least be taken off the rim and swapped over, if not just swapped around on the rims, to get the most from the tyre.

I'm assuming you need longer Tie rod arms, not sure how they are on E90 but could be just some longer threaded sections that screw in or a custom part if it's not that simple.

you cant swap tyres these days, they have an "outside" and "inside" so regardless of what side of the car you put them on, the inside will be the inside.

from the looks of that, you can ditch the wide tyres and just run a 145 space saver, cause that's all the contact patch your actually using.

Depends entirely on the tyre, they look symmetrical to me, but are directional. Non directional is the easiest as you just swap the wheels around. But symmetrical allows you to have the tyres swapped round before they become illegal on the wearing side. Asymmetrical tyres you can't, and aren't worth it if you're running camber, especially since they're designed to utilise the entire contact patch.

Even some directional tyres can be switched over, the drivers side will need to go to passenger side and vise versa!!!
