Problem with battery?
I have a 2008 335xi with about 45000 miles and recently the car has been acting up. First, whenever I unlock the car the halos and tailights do not come on anymore. Second, when i only had the electronics on in the car and was listening to the radio, after about a minute, the battery light would come on. Now, my biggest problem is that my airbag system light is on with the seat belt one. Could this be a bad battery? Or possible a bad airbag sensor? I'm worried to take it in to my local BMW dealership because I dont want to drop $1000 if its just a simple fix by me.
thanks BTW the airbag light just came on one time when I started up the car, now its been on for about a week or two. |

Sounds like the battery. When the battery light comes on after a few minutes of listening to the radio, it likely needs to be replaced. By the time the lights starts coming on, the battery doesn't have much life left. I went from battery light coming on to almost not starting in a few weeks. Mileage has nothing to do with it; it's basically age and driving style (short trips and such). My '07 only has 39K on it, but the battery was original so old.

It's the battery. Dealer will charge 300 - 500 dollars, or you can do it yourself for less than 100 if you have access to a BT cable to register the new battery. Plenty of threads on battery replacement.
