White smoke - I think . Coolent? Where to start?

I have a 335i with about 89K on it. It has been running fine until recently when I moved from high altitude to low. It seems to have adjusted itself just fine for the lower altitude. Started getting the half yellow engine light. After poking around I found a couple of vacuum hoses right near the oil filter that were almost completely gone! 6$ worth of hosing and it's now fixed! Funny that my wastegate rattle went away at the same time, whoo hoo!

So I was thinking everything was a-ok then I noticed white smoke on startup. I thought it was just water vapor in the morning since it is more humid here than back in Colorado where I moved from. Now it is more noticeable. It is worse when I first start the car which I assume is water vapor plus the mystery smoke. After warm up, the smoke is a lot less but still noticeable... little wisps at idle. AND idle seems to be a little jumpy. Not smooth rolling idle, has little "bumps" in the idle.

So, convention says it is coolant. Well, it doesn't smelly sweet or syrupy, smells like fuel or oil. BUT my low coolant indicator just started showing up the other day. Now this could be due to the fact that I haven't done ANYTHING with the coolant since the day I purchased the car (2 years ago) and the temperature has just fallen quickly... maybe I'm wrong that this would cause a lower coolant level?

Anyway, looking for a place to start looking. Turbo seals? If so, how hard to get into that? Oh, and my CPO just expired!

Thanks for any thoughts!
