I'm at exactly the same mileage. My dealer was having a courtesy inspection and told me my valve cover gasket is leaking oil. I lose a qt. around the same time as OP. might want to have that checked.

There isn't a tune out there to my knowledge that targets 32psi for the N54.

Rob Beck PCV upgrade
Check Valve From Crank Case to Rear Turbo Inlet Replaced
DCI
no tune
secondary cats deleted

I've been burning about a qt of Valvoline Synpower 5W-30 every 800 miles. No visible significant blue or white smoke from exhaust. Did RB PCV upgrade + rear turbo inlet check valve replacement. Same consumption. No visible leaks from VC gasket, oil filter housing gasket, or oil filll plug. Removed under tray 3 times over the last yr to check for leaks - nothing. My turbos whine but I'm assuming it's not seal related otherwise I'd be pissing blue/white smoke out the exhuast. Double checked oil sensor functionality unplugging and re-plugging in. No odd codes from Bav Tech. Been stumped on this oil consumption issue forever....

1qt every 2000 miles for me. I wish mine burned 1qt every 10,000 miles.

Also, I don't see how carbon buildup at the intakes would affect oil consumption. Please enlighten me.

I know that with the x35i motors and the carbon problem associated with DI, it is important to have an oil catch can to prevent the recirculated oil from going back into the intake and along with the carbon. But to this end, oil consumption is a given on these engines. But I would say also ideally not more than 1 ltr (quart) per 10k km, 10k miles even better!

Now with the BMW NA engines like the N52, they are also known to consume oil, but some simply don't use while most seem to use a moderate amount which is strange. Mine used more oil when I bought it with 46k km on the clock than it is now more than 20k km later. So definitely improving! Changed oil a few months ago with the oil level meter sitting on 25% left and more than 10k km since the last service, so not too bad.

Have this problem. Turned out to be the valve cover gasket as well as the oil filter housing.

you change your oil at more than 10K intervals? +1 on 1qt/10K miles is nothing to worry about. 1qt/2K I still wouldn't worry about. I changed my oil at about 1/2 the CBS interval which is about 7.5K miles.

I've had oil comsumption for the last 10k miles and what finally fixed it was: valve stem seals, turbo replacement, oil filter gasket, and new injectors. I've always done 5k mile oci's
