Xenon low beam out - blowing ballast
Have pass side low beam not working on '06 330i. Tried replacing with new D1S bulb but no change. Assumed it was the ballast, so removed non-working ballast and tried it on the driver side and confirmed ballast was not working. Then I tried the working drivers side ballast on the pass side and it started smoking, and no longer works on the drivers side.
Any suggestions whether this would be a wiring problem, footwell control module, or something else? If I test at the ballast connections with a multimeter what values should I be expecting? Any help would be appreciated. Gerry. |

Can anyone tell me if a BT tool or INPA software will help diagnose this? I really didn't see any codes in the list of possible error codes that would help me isolate this problem.
