How many coupes in the US? 11? What?

When I went to a BMW dealer and asked about the 335i, he said that it is a "high-demand" car and thus, markups are high. He said that at the time, which was 1 month ago, "currently, there are 11 coupes in the US." I wonder if used that statement as a marketing technique or was it genuine? When he said that I couldn't believe it. There was no way for me to find out. Is there a way he could prove that? Just alone in Southern California, I've seen at least 8-10 different coupes. Now I don't know if he meant 335's or 328's but that statement alone is interesting. I guess if true, by knowing that I feel special for soon having a high-deman car. You see as we're waiting for our boat to arrive, it gives us this feeling. This is my first BMW, so I'm psyched. What do you guys think? Did you get the same from you dealer?

Your dealer is flat out lying to you. I have one, and at least 20 other people on here have one. Geez, there's three of them within a mile of me at the moment. There's more like 11thousand not 11. What a dipshit. Tell him he's full of shit. Tell him I said so.

I'm sure he could have meant 11 cars in the US on lots that are available and not already spoken for.

I think he's just telling you, as an earlier poster said, what is available to buy right now. The inventory must be at an all-time low, since there was no production in August and the September output is just beginning to trickle in.

Dealer is justifying why they are not discounting the coupe for you.

There are definitely a crapload of coupes in socal alone.

Maybe there are only 11 coupes in your region that are not already presold to individuals that ordered them. So someone off the street would have problems walking in a buying one off the lot. They would have to be flexible on options, colors, and no discount on MSRP.

I can tell you one thing...THERE IS ONLY ONE E90.2 in the WORLD.

I was at my dealership, Concord BMW yesterday. I had to drove around the lot/building and only saw 1 e92 that looked like it came off the truck that afternoon.

They usually have a Cab or coupe in front of the dealership and there were none yesterday, just a bunch of 7-series.

OK, hold on! If E90's looked like this one, I would not have bought my Coupe!
Wow! This is how E90's should look!!
How much work was required on that? Looks like a whole new front end from a E92. Awesome!
