ECS strut bar install
I've recently installed the ECS carbon strut bar on my 2010 328i and it makes contact with the underside of the hood. I want to confirm that I've installed the bar correctly.
![]() Also, I have a question regarding the actual design of the bar and it's mounting brackets. With the strut tower plates bolted in place, if I place the bar in it's position, should the mounting surface of the bar and the mounting surface of the plates be flush? If I bolt one side, the angle of the mounting point on the strut tower plate forces the other side of the bar up. So if both sides of the bar are torqued down, there is a certain amount of bending placed on the bar. Is this correct? This photo shows the bar with one side bolted in place. ![]() |

For the photos everything was essentially finger tight, unfortunately it seems to be a manufacturing issue. ECS was great as far as issuing a quick refund, I would have liked to have been able to get the bar to work though.
