I am geting ready for my first oil change ... I already have a little bit over 100 miles on my car since last friday

I don't know what the going rate is in Cali, but $175 is very expensive. My dealer charges ~$80 for parts and labor.

All Kragens will take used oil for free. That is their typical price for M1 oil. Walmart and Target may have it cheaper every once in a while...

I think you'd be fine to run the oil longer. 100 miles is probably overkill but do it if you want. I went to 1100 miles but only because that's when I had time, and it was probably still a little overkill.
