Which tuner is plug and play?

Never tuned my car, want to start from ease. Which tuner is plug and play doesn't need mapping? How much more power will it gain? Thanks.
Sorry for the newbie questions.

The COBB and JB4 are pretty much plug and play. They both are ready to use out of the box. With the JB4 you just leave it on the default map (map1) and same for COBB as it will come defaulted on Stage1.

All the tunes, mentioned above are basically plug and play and ready to go.

COBB and OFT can be done from driver's seat while JB4 and procede need to be installed under the hood in the DME department.

Why not leave it on map 5 at all times?

I recommend the jb4.
Takes about 15-20 min to install, which is nothing when you're getting 50-70 whp out of it.
Use e85 on map 5 and its closer to 100whp

As Jeff stated these are what you have to chose from. Depending on your level of expertise is what will probably make up your mind.

COBB - easiest to install. The AP pretty much takes care of everything for you. The off the shelf tunes are decent and depending on your mods you can flash different stage maps. Also if you want to have a tune dialed in for your car you'll need to find a Pro Tuner (aka... Pro Tuning Freaks) to customize a map for your car. Support is pretty good and the guys at PTF really know their stuff and can be really helpful as well.

OFT (Open Flash Tablet) - is very similar to install as COBB. Loading maps requires a little more user knowledge, but is not too difficult. There are some off the shelf maps that have put down some good numbers, but the maps are user editable so if you have some tuning knowledge you can customize your own maps. Support is pretty much forum based but Shiv has been pretty open to lending a hand.

JB4 - Install is going to take some knowledge as it requires you to plug the unit inline with the DME. I would suggest you watch an install video and see if it's something you'd be willing to tackle. JB4 has a ton of features (a will turn up a big list for you) and is good for those people really wanting to dial in their car. Mike and Terry support their product very well. Another thing that makes the JB4 attractive is it's price point.

Procede - Again the install requires the unit to be plugged inline with the DME (watch a video). Wide range of features (again search and you'll find plenty of info) so that it can be used on a stock car or a car that is FBO. Shiv and his guys do a great job of support and are usually pretty quick to handle any issues.

Thanks for all you guys above.

Just got a COBB from a member, cannot wait to install it.

Do I need to install FMIC if I only use the car for DD never plan to track or race?

FMIC will provide consistency run after run since the stock one heatsoaks pretty easily.

Stage 1 won;t be affected as much, but if you're looking to make more power, consistently, an FMIC is the way to go.

The stock FMIC is pretty crappy on anything over stock boost, so even the lowest setting on the COBB will benefit from an FMIC.
