Looking for feedback on v1.47 running

Hey this is probably to the Europeans amongst us, as they will be able to relate to the fuel I'm using etc. But any sage advise from our drag racing US chums would be appreciated.

I've been running 1.47 hard now for about 1 week. I'm running Tesco's finest 99 ron, with the occasional Shell Vmax.

I've got 1100 miles on the BM and have pretty much followed a hard break in procedure since pickup - always paid dividends on my bikes so what the hey !

Anyway I'm really popping and cracking on the overrun especially in M mode. My exhaust tips are also COVERED in SOOT....

I've not seen any flames yet but It wouldn't surprise me one bit.

V1.47 is my ONLY mod, so my question is as I'm obviously running very rich, what do you guys experience with this tune ?

Is it just that the Map is very conservative for our level of fuel octane i.e. runs rich, or as I'm SPANKING the car have the fuel trims just gone haywire !?

Any advice would be welcome, and this is no complaint just interest really.

p.s. no codes here VERY HAPPY with the power too, holy shit fast doesn't cut it. Looking forward to a smoother hit and a longer ride with V2

no, I do too. pretty used to it though, all my turbo cars I've owned have had them (3 DSM's, porsche, volvo, and now BMW). I think it may come from rich situations in cruising or lobing around town...

Hmm. Thanks for the feedback.

Makes sense I suppose the car's done more M40 mileage so far than it has hard on boost stuff.

Just been out for a night-time blast. Man for the UK this car is swift. Left a very surprised M3 around a roundabout and I was three up !

I think I'm getting sub 20's on the MPG though, so I'm almost at e92 m3 territory as far as fuel costs !

I need to go and try the new BP 102 octane... I imagine that will make NO difference given the state of rich tune, but you never know !
