I also think the picture is too small - is that turbo side?

Make sure your filter housing o-ring is on the right groove. It doesn't actually sit on the groove closest to the lip, it's a bit closer to the threads.
(don't ask how I know this! ) |

thank for the reply guys! sorry for the huge pic. my oil filter o-ring is good no leaks there. i left the motor running and it doesn't seem to be leaking. maybe i didn't clean up as well as i thought from my ofhg job. ill clean a little bit more and run some degreaser and post results. thanks again!

ok so I cleaned up as much oil as I can find and water downed that side and dryed up everything. it took a really long time! It seems like it still is leaking!
It seems like there is a gasket in there or a space between there. Possibly oil still stuck from previous leaks still in there. Could there be another lower block and a gasket in between there. I find it hard to believe the block could be leaking! |

Perhaps you didnt get the gasket placed properly? I had oil in those exact same spots....it was my oil filter housing gasket. I had the engine cleaned and have not had any oil there since.
I am pretty sure if it is the valve cover gasket it will leak down the turbo side of the block. I'm just an amateur though so take this with a grain of salt. |
