Good Garages (West Midlands)
Hey people, can anyone recommend a good garage in the West Midlands area, preferably in Birmingham. Have been using a garage my family uses and this wkend they have caused me major problems. They did work on discs n brakes on friday, constant squeaking and juddering since then and brakes failed on me this evening. Had to use my handbrake and slide my car to come to a halt and almost smashed my car into a lorry. I knew something was up with the brakes sonce friday evening driving back hme and went back yesterday evening and this afternoon and the garage would not change the brakes and blamed the issues on bedding in. They said drive the car for a week the brakes wil b fine, if not we will change the parts under warranty. I had a bit of an arguement their as i knew the problem would get worse and they wer dodging doing any more labour.
Oh yea almost forgot to mention, the prick mechanic broke my seatbelt handover thing on drivers side and garage denied it. Complete wankers. Rant over, any help on a good garage will b much appreciated. |

Only one I can recommend is Auto Precision in Wolverhampton. It's the garage arm of Performance Torque, their work is outstanding.
However, if it's just brakes that need replacing, any garage will do that. Pick up the Yellow Pages and choose one at random

I use Jo Darby in Redditch for all servicing and any other bits that might need doing.
Very good at what he does and great prices. http://www.jodarbycars.co.uk |

I've had work done there a few times, even back when they were VW Rescue. Nice bunch of chaps and good prices. It is one of two garages I use. The other being MidlandVW who are renound through the VAG scene as one of the best. Also very competitive.

I use the BMW Indy-Stourbridge Auto.they are just off the A435 Hagley Road,so close to South Birmingham and both junction 3 and 4 of the M5.Just moved to newer larger premises.Decent prices and very very knowledgeable.

I would make the trip down to APS in Brackley (A43 nr Silverstone). It's a few miles from you but they are superb and whilst they're a VAG / Porsche specialist they also will deal with your BMW with no issues.
www.autops.co.uk, ask for Ed Jackson. I've taken all my cars there for the last 8 years, even brand new from factory including 4 or 5 various BMW's - one of their techs is ex-BMW in any case. Would rather put in a bit more effort to use a top notch place and these guys are top notch. |
