I have another 335i that I used to drive, it has stock exterior, but everytime I see my car, I just feel the car dont deserve the look of it, but I heard that the M3 conversion will cost 4k, so when I see this new car, which is a finished product, I bought it straight away with a very reasonable price, yes there is a M3 badge on the boot, I used to think about put M335 on the car but there is no M335i door sill and vent badge I can buy(I planned to buy the M135 badge and M3 badge then replace 1 with 3)...
So maybe I ll just leave it as what it is, I know it makes some ppl feels yuck -.-

Yeah, I understand, I quote the insurance before I made this decision, the price increase is like 30%ish for 335 so it still less than the half of M3's insurance...(well I am 20...) and M4 is comming out and I think I can get one in 2-3 years time

Not sure how bad your insurance quotes are, but you'd might find the cost of all the mods to make your 335i look and perform like an M3, will cost as much as the insurance cost and purchase difference.

The M3 will likely retain more of its value too.

Hope the car turns out a good one.

Thanks, I ll swap the subframe with M3 and increase the power to 420bhp, so the only downside compare to the real M3 after the job done I think is just the noise

It's designed to make it more like a real M3... with no torque at all

"Insurance is expensive so I'll spunk several grand on fitting a body kit and exhaust to a different car so it looks like the one I decided not to get due to the expense".

Not sure I get the logic

And I did exaaaaaaaactly the same thing when I was younger, so don't take it as an insult.

I just ended up wishing I bought the car I wanted straight away in the end though...

It does look pretty nice though. Black kidney grilles rear LCI lights, and I can't see if you've done anything to the brakes? What about fitting an LSD?
There are more downsides to the 335 than just the power. Please don't add 120bhp to the car and do nothing about LSD, suspension or brakes ...

Also, who is doing your remapping etc? I "know a guy" if you want a good price. Very reputable company. PM me if interested.

Dave

Only conversion I see a point in is the E91, the rest, I can't imagine the work/cost of insuring mods would be much different than a real one.

Hi, I just replied something to you by mistake and I just get it edited...
Yes I am about the get M3 front/rear sub frames fitted on my car so it is a big saving as these two subframes with LS, M3 suspension and M3 brakes only cost just bit over 1000, (just think about how much is quaife LSD...), and modified down pip, inter cooler, then it will get more power than M3 and basically same chassis as M3, so it really make sense to build a N54 M3

Which has been rumoured to be the original plan of BMW.

I am a international student with no other Family member here so I feel I need a car in this country other wise I feel I lost my legs... train ticket is sky high in this country and pretty pretty slow I already suffered that on the first year I came here... Instead of paying 2000 a year insurance for a corsa, I would rather pay one more grand a year to insure a bimmer...(3 series all got similar insurance price no matter it is a 318 or a 335 but M3 is another story) and I love cars, it's gonna be a huge waste if I don't buy a car in this country...
and of course my car is used...

I've heard quite a few people insuring their 335i for the same or less than 320/318s.
