OFT VANOS Shift

I am running the OFT Stage 1 tune and recently added a Mr. 5 intake setup. I had the boost differential around 4100 RPM in previous data logs, but it all but vanished after I had my valves cleaned. With the colder weather (41F) it seems the boost differential with the VANOS shifts is more pronounced and is causing a significant throttle closure (see data log at ~4100 RPM). I know this issue is caused by the VANOS creating a shift in VE (Shiv confirmed). Anybody have any recommendations on how to smooth the VANOS tables to prevent this boost differential?

Tks

Not sure what that is. What ROM are you using (e.g., IKCOS).

I'm not sure OFT has the proper parameters available to datalog to fix it. You could try reverting to oem vanos, might fix it.

I am going look at the 3d maps today. After doing some reading I think issue is the VANOS becomes active at that point, VE changes, and the ability fornthe engine to injest air goes down creating a temp overboost condition. Having RPM and load I hope to smooth some of that table to eliminate. We dont have access to all the VANOS control in comparison tonthe E46 guys. Every OFT log I have seen has this little departure so I know it isnt my car.

Agreed. If we could data log Vanos activity this would be an easy fix.
