Do Many people run meth in the uk?
Just curious to know whether many people run meth here In the uk as it seems big over in the states?
What sort of price it is for the install? And general pro's/ con's of using it? Thanks |

Not a Brit but european. Contact the best WMI vendor Aquamist. Located in the UK. I installed their HFS-4 a few months ago. Great kit, but on the pricey end. Richard provides the best support (phone, email and forum) I have ever experienced.

There are a few of us running meth.
Pro's: More power/Torque, Cleaning of valves (important in a DI engine), Chemical intercooling (more reliable power), Cheap to buy the kit, Meth is cheap. Cons: Meth is flammable (respect needed), if you don't have a failsafe and go too aggressive things go bad quickly. Overall if you do your research and err on the side of caution then its a great system. I use the JB4 paired with the BMS meth kit - works great and is the best price/performance/safety compromise. The HFS-4 is the best kit money can buy. For install - DIY. Should you have a problem in future (leaks, air in lines etc) you'll be much better placed on fault finding than having to pay someone to solve simple issues that will come up.. Otherwise there is a Devils Own distributor in the UK who can do installs - worth checking him out anyway to buy pieces of the kit in the UK rather than shipping it all in..

Thanks for chiming in Phil
Ben, i previously asked Phil all about meth and he is very knowledgable. A few other questions worth asking. Obviously a lot of us would be running JB4 G5... and so the obvious choice would be the BMW Meth kit with FSB as it has all kinds of fail safes and works well with the JB4. BUT if we were to fork out a bit more and run an aquamist kit... is it as straight forward as using the JB4 Meth kit? Phil are you still running a Windshield Washer kit? or have you moved to a Boot kit? Also what ChargePipe (CP) is best to use? Should we retain the stock Diverter Valves (DV) or Use aftermarket ones? Is it dangerous to use BOVs as they vent to atmosphere? Should we use two nipples in the CP to get better atomisation or consider fabbing a way of injection just after the exit of the intercooler? AM I MISSING ANYTHING? |

I first ran a ER charge pipe with dual bungs. Later fitted two bungs on IC cold side, better atomization and even spread between the cylinders. Currently run 0,5+0,7mm jets on stock turbos and 70% meth.

The aquamist kit has its own failsafes, I wouldn't pair it with a jb4.
You can use a hybrid kit with the Bms failsafe - buy the pump, tank etc in the UK and just the fsb from the USA. I'm still using the WW tank, it's not something I'm going to recommend to others. I run 50:50 mix for (relative) safety, I'm still planning on getting a trunk tank but have had no problems with the ww kit - hence it's been low on the priority list..

Thank you for your input. In order to run 2 bungs on the cold side of the intercooler. Was it fairly close to the exit of the intercooler? Have you got any pics of the bungs yo used and how it is all fitted? I was always more interested in this method of installation. Maybe one bung close to intercooler and one in the CP? I take it you are running a trunk setup? Quote:
I still love the idea of a WW kit for ease of install and removal |

Aquamist gauge hidden in the compartment in front of the shifter and "databox" in the glovebox. HFS-4 can be integrated with JB4 but you might aswell buy a cheaper kit then. I would however get Aquamist compression fittings as they are second to none. Edit: added pic of where I routed the fuel line out the trunk. Same place the exhaust flap vacuum line goes. First tried the hole in the front of the same compartment but I did not like the hard bend behind the left rear wheel arch. Last edited by johmei; 11-19-2013 at 05:53 AM.. |

Do you have more photos?

Thanks, it was a fun project. I really never took any pictures once it was installed, I should have. I have a few of routing wires inside the car but it's like any other trunk-dash wiring. I have one of the pump and tank setup before it went in the car (se attached). The aquamist pump has inlet/outlet the wrong way and should not be mounted on this tank as I had in previous pics. Some mount it "upside down, but not a good idea as it will not be gravity fed like my setup. If I had an amp I would put the pump under the floor in the center of the trunk and make a hole for the tube down there.

Mine doesn't have an amp either.
I was going to put the pump under the floor but this approach is clean. How is the tank secured - bolted to the floor?

Ok. The tank is strapped in. The straps are secured by the metal brackets under the liner. You'll find them when you take the liner off. You can actually see two of them in the fourth photo. I'll try to remember to take more photos if you are interested?!

I've been known to drink it, as I'm sure others have.
Does that help?
