Service records and dealerships
Why is there no consistency between dealerships and the SA's within them on this subject? Why is there no program that extracts the info out stripping any personal information.
I keep calling Bellevue BMW to get the service records for my car and the first guy said he can't give me the service records because of personal info but he'll tell me what's been done and what hasn't been done and I had to write it all down. The next guy a few weeks later wouldn't give me ANY info at all other than what recalls were done. Both guys says due to personal info they can't just print the records, the 2nd guy gave me some bullshit legal reason about some divorce lawsuit back east as the reason why he couldn't give me any info at all. I personally think BMW has $$$$ reasons why they don't want the service records being passed off to the next owner and it's under the guise of "law suits back east". |

I called KUNI and they claim they have no way of getting the info from Bellevue BMW.
Or are you saying things are different face to face vs. over the phone? About the help I could use it! All my buddies are LS guys so I'm kind of the odd man out. Been trying to find local BMW guys I can bounce local questions off of. Also, mods feel free to move to general E90/E92 etc, I posted in wrong section opps. But again, you'll have better luck if you want in there. Find a salesman, tell him that you need the service records on your vehicle. And of course Kuni is your service garage of choice PM me if you need anything, ill pass my phone number and hook you up with a friend as well who is local. |

I got my records from Kuni and they just blacked out the previous owner's information. They just need your key and they can get it for you.

I have an e36 m3 and I took it to the dealership for an oil change and the service manger told me all the damn history on the car. It's a two owner car which I knew and it left the lot in 2002 and out of warranty in 2006. He couldn't print it because the previous owners address was on it. I own a dakar yellow m3 and many people at the dealer knew the previous owner since it's a one out of 115 ever made

Funny thing happened to me.
Sales guy at SF BMW gave the service record of a 135i I was looking at without any questions. Service advisor at Peter Pan BMW was not willing to provide the service record of the car I own now. |
