Hi, am looking to get some coilovers for my e91 as I hate arch gap and love the low's...
Basicly there are a fue different brands and I was hoping if anyone could shed some light on the difference. I have herd some give you a softer ride or lower ect.... The brands I have found are JOM, TA techs and FK's..... On all my previous cars I have had TA techs but just wanted to know what's what..... ð |

Never heard of TA Techs. JOM are common enough in the VW market (although still considered low buck but serviceable).
I would say FK (anything above streetline) is about as low buck as you want to go on this platform. ST coils are the perfect medium IMO between the low buck segment and typical medium end coils (KW, H&R etc). Other than the galvanized steel bodies they are like any other KW coils. I would say the same about FK Konig Sport since they use Koni struts. I would stick with one of those. I had ST on my previous VW GTI so it was a natural choice for me since I was impressed with the ride quality/handling balance and never had any rust issues here in VA. Last car I had with adjustable damping I was constantly fiddling and always second guessing my settings so I always choose non adjustable and let the company do the tuning. |
