Winter tire Question for new owner

I'm taking delivery of a new 328i sedan w/sport package in about a week and I have a summer/winter tire question. I am an American living in the UK and I was wondering if some who lives here can tell if I should invest in a set of all season or winter tires. I have been here in the UK for 2.5 years and the winters don't seem all that bad. Any advise would be appeciated.

I am not sure what the winters are like there, but you will not go anywhere in snow with a summer tire, even a dusting. Me thinks you will need winter tires.
