Need advice on a torn roof lining
Hi,
To cut a long story short my car's been at an accident repair centre where they've replaced the steering wheel and repaired some damage to the front bumper. I got it back last night and today have noticed a tear in the roof lining, which I imagine has been done by catching it on the steering wheel as they've removed it. I think I know the answer to this, but is this a case of replacing the whole roof lining, rather than there being a way of just fixing the tear? If so, am I right in thinking this should be covered by insurance, seeing as it was done at their chosen repair centre? I've just got home and given them a call but they're closed so will have to wait until tomorrow to speak to them about it. Is it quite a quick job or am I looking at being without my car for a few days or so? Cheers

chances of them admitting they done that are slim to none
if you had noticed before you left with the car then you would have them, but now all they need to say is that you done that after the car left their shop i would also think that any repair attempt will be very easily visible, so a whole roof lining would be required. |

I am a bit worried about that. The thing is, when they picked it up they did check all over for any damage, to cover themselves a presume, so if they didn't note any tear on the roof lining that should hopefully work in my favour. I wish I had noticed it when picking it up, but it was dark and seeing as it was only the bumper they were repairing I check that over and didn't really think to check the ceiling!
Ah well, will have to see what happens when I call the insurance company tomorrow.

Another quick question on this....
Is the M Sport roof lining always black as standard?

Thanks mate.
Spoke to the repair centre today and they were apologetic and will be replacing it for free, so all good. Just didn't want to end up with the grey lining by mistake!
