Placed TomTom 5 inch (Via 135) on iDrive (CCC) shelf - just fits!
My iDrive CCC Satellite Navigation Professional DVD drive died and a replacement unit from the dealer (2 slots - top drive for CD audio, bottom drive for DVD sat nav map disc) would be £180. Instead I put a TomTom on the ledge!
http://images.forum-auto.com/mesimag...0/SP_A0685.jpg http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/image...147861656_.jpg I'm chuffed that so far it hasn't slipped and it's not using its suction mount - I just forced in it. Would the latest 2014 maps for my iDrive (old / pre-LCI) CCC Professional Sat Nav be a better sat nav system than current TomToms? |

Not totally sure of the point of this post?
However, the navigation you have installed in your car needs repairing, so repair it! When you come to sell the car, you will need to do it anyway! |

What is the point of this post? What should we say?
Congratulations, you can't afford to run your car. I'll make a note not to buy your car from you as you seem to refuse to maintain it to a proper standard and are instead prepared to bodge on repairs Of course in principal a brand new tomtom is likely to be better than software from 2007. The CIC system is still very modern but the CCC feels old now ...

Hi
Get a retrofit cic if your kerping the car. Some one like Makken will do it for you and its not that expensive if the dealer wants £180 for a old ccc. |

Harsh, but probably fair! You need to be able to maintain these cars or there's really no point.
In the grand scheme of things, that's peanuts to get your Idrive working. What happens when the big things start going wrong? Anyway,if its a short term thing and you're happy...! |

Personally I think it's clever that the OP has found a TomTom just fits. If it doesn't look shit then fair play.
And you're all being perfectly beastly. |

I have no problem with the temporary solution but can you use the idrive and radio etc with the Tom-Tom in the way?
