tire wearing from spring seat
I just noticed my tire has a grove like wear pattern on the inside top corner of the tire from what appears to be where the spring sits (not sure if its called spring seat). it sits like 2 inches above tire.
car is e92 335i sport susp. seems to sit a tad lower than others. my only explanation is when cornering hard there might be some rubbing. or the wheel offset is wrong. has anyone experienced this? just brought to dealer...they've never seen it. wheels are stock 230 with stock rfts. car was safety certified 4 months ago at dealer. wondering if they should have noticed this. I will take some pics. |

That's rubbing on inside strut . Had this happen on an e46 m3 with Michelin pilot sport tires(they run wide). If they are oem and oem sizes I would ask the dealer why that's happening. Even turned shouldn't rub.

here as close up. you can see the grove running around the tire.
car was safetied 4 months ago at dealer. theres no way this could have happened during that period. also how bad is this to drive on? |

not trying to be sarcastic...
but really??? seriously, there is no issues with your suspension. some would almost consider it normal wear with runflats. I began to get wear like that but since running 38-42psi it seems to have stopped. |

if your tire was not touching the spring when you looked at it when it was installed, then it cannot touch the tire. unless your hub carrier is broken in half and is allowing the tire to angle into the strut/spring.
but then, you would be having other issues. how many psi are in that tire? please check. |
