JB4 - Top speed limiter?

I have done alot of research, and have concluded that out of all the ECU tunes out there for the N54, it looks like JB4 is the best bang-for-buck, pretty easy to install and use, and one of the best overall. But there's only one thing I found that concerns me. Apparently it is the ONLY tune that does not remove the factory top speed limiter! Does this mean that even with JB4 I will still max out at 135 MPH? Also, I am curious about the best/cheapest place to buy it. Thanks for all the help in advance!

you'd have to buy the speed limiter defeat to do that (10$ extra).

We do offer the Jb4

That is because JB4 is 'piggy back' system, it 'fools' the signals to the DME. So you got to buy another thing that fools the speed limit coming into the DME from ABS controller.

+1

With the JB4 G5 you can buy a SLD (Speed Delimiter) wire which removes the speed limiter. You will also need the USB cable as its required for the SLD.

I wasn't aware that the SLD was built into the G5. And why would the USB cable be required? I do have both but what you've said is news to me.

Its all good haha its a flash that you use in conjunction with the jb4 and it switches fueling to a flash and then lets the jb4 control boost.. Theres a wealth of info on it on the other forum.. It definitely makes a difference and made my low end a lot more responsive.. If you want any more info feel free to pm me

^What he said. It can be done via Cobb AP, or more cost effectively with a BT cable. We have both!

So I just checked out your website (N54Tuning.com) and it appears that the JB4 is the same price there as it is on every other website, but there are alot more accessories available to purchase with it (such as the speed delimiter). My only questions are: What is the "CPS" option, and what is the "2-Step Relay" option?

Depends on the car.

Sport e9x are limited at 155, while non-sport cars are limited at 130.

CPS is for advanced timing control and 2-Step is for MT cars for no lift shifting. Mostly for drag racing applications.

Ok, so I can just assume that since my car is automatic then I don't need to worry about the 2-Step Relay. But as for the CPS, what are the advantages of that? Although it seems that the CPS and SLD options come as a package, and you can't get one without the other.

Actually we are moving away from the CPS wires and using the backend flash for that purpose. Need to update the site.
