Looking for a good mechanic. [Chicago, STL, or Indianapolis]

So here's the deal - I live in the middle of nowhere. Nowhere. Nada. Corn. Beans. Nothing. Chicago is about 3 1/2 hours away and it looks like it's my best option for maintenance on my 335i. I could also do St. Louis (90 miles) or Indianapolis (100 miles)

Here's what I need done:
- Macht Snell OC3 Reconnected (Wiring came loose when I picked up the car)
- Vishnu PROcede upgraded or re-installed (Really screwing up my car/accelerations/etc with incorrect fuel flow)
- Alignment
- General maintenance & tune up

Here's what I'm hoping for:
- A shop that can do all of the above at a reasonable cost.
- I can make an appointment, bring my car, leave it for a day or two, and pick it back up.

Any suggestions or introductions are greatly appreciated!

David

Call Ed at Bavarian auto repair. They are an independent repair shop in St. Louis that only services BMW's and have been doing so for many years. I have been using them for my fleet of BMW's for almost 10 years and highly recommend them for honest, accurate, and economic repairs done right the first time. The majority of their techs come from BMW dealerships. Ed is the manager of the location closest you on Olive St. just east of hwy 170, his phone number is 1-314-997-2002. Chris Covinsky
P.S. They even have a deal with Enterprise Car Rental for a cheap car to drive if needed, and they pick you up at the repair shop!

I just go to dealer in Indy (Dreyer & Reinbold). It's convenient (on my way to and from work), and always getting a loaner is nice. Plus the tech I request there is a friend's brother, so I don't worry about crappy work. It might not be the cheapest for some stuff, but for the few things I've had to get fixed (battery, belt, and pulley on my previous car), the price was comparable to other shops I called. Plus, the e90's fall under their Value Service so even an oil change isn't too bad (http://www.dreyerreinboldbmwnorth.com/value-service.htm).

don't take it to any shops in Indy since they are all crap!!

yeah right, i'm sure Dreyer & Reinbold will install a PROcede......

I wouldn't let reggies touch it unless you had a flat tire

Your best bet would be taking it to Chicago for A&L or Aspec where they actually know a thing or two about tuning

For those who want an independent shop in the Indianapolis area, Gator Motorsports just opened up.
It's a new Lotus/Rossion dealer, however they will work on all marques and their techs are very knowledgeable and do great work.
Check them out. http://www.gatormotorsport.com/

For general work on your car the best BMW shop in Chicago in my opinion is RN Bavarian Motors. They don't do tuning though, as far as I am aware.
