Oil Filter Housing Gasket Leak?

Can someone tell me if this is a symptom of the oil housing gasket failure?

Looks like the power steering reservoir leaking likely around the cap. I'd clean it and see what happens. Also check the fluid level, but don't let that gunk fall inside.

Was it not obvious that I have no clue what I'm looking at? Haha

Yep, that's power steering reservoir that's leaking as said above.

Not really, well, depends on why it is leaking. I would check the seal for the reservoir cap, and also for any signs of cracks anywhere. At worst you would have to replace the reservoir which I doubt is all that expensive if you take a look at RealOEM - this is the part for the E90 330i like mine, but should be common to all E90 models.

It looks like the cap was not fully tight so I tightened it. Hopefully that was the problem.

Not to flame here, but why wasn't that your first thought?

If you need a new one it's easy DIY job. Takes about 20min. Reservoir has a disc filter in the bottom of it. Cost for new is like $50 but make sure you also get new clamps for the in and out lines.

There is a o ring in the cap. It needs to be changed from time to time.
