Radar Install

Hey guys, where is the best place to get my radar detector hard wired into the car? Best buy had no clue how to do it today. So frustrating! Thanks guys. Been a while since I've been on here. Sold the M3, got an E90 335. Family is growing

Its a fairly simple process rather than going to the fuse box for mine I ended up getting the flashlight to cig lighter adaptor.

http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Oem-BMW-flashlight-Power-Adapter-12v-Cigarette-Lighter-82110004073-E46-E39-/00/s/MTAwMFg3NTA=/z/YNEAAOxyGqZSYXyf/$T2eC16ZHJH0FG1p3pQs(BSY(yeo4Tg~~60_35.JPG

Im under warranty and didn't want them thinking anything out of the ordinary

What did you tap into? Might be wanting to do this in the near future when my warranty gives up.

Interesting. Always heard of people tapping into the sunroof for power. I don't want cords all over. Did that for 3+ years and would like to have it more sleak.

I believe I used the PDC/ Homelink fuse.

I found a guide that walks you through it, I used pretty much the same wiring setup and it works great! on/off with ignition.

I have an escort 9500ix. I debated on the V1 as well but found a good deal on this one 3 years ago. I like the arrow option on the V1, think that would be great. Have to say though, this has saved me multiple times. Will never go without one again.

Seems fairly easy it I'm sure I would screw something up haha. Was hoping for a place that could do it for a reasonable amount of money. Time is always my problem!

I got my radar installed at Rays in bloomingdale. (e92). They are really good. If for whatever reason who want dealer to install the only dealer that installs is Moterwerks bmw in barrington.

I've heard of them. Motorwerks probably charges a ton. But at least you would have dealership warranty?

Thanks guys, appreciate the responses.

I know this post has been a bit but...Super Easy http://www.safeer.us/?p=281. Start to finish 30 min. The hardest/longest part was getting the dome light off. I have the V1 and the external display and the time was including hiding the wires in the pillar and running the display wire to set my external display in the "ashtray" area.
