what hose is this?
long story short, cruising on the highway at bout 80, heard a loud "woosh" and saw crazy amount of smoke coming from the hood and red temp light. shut her down. and after the smoke cleared i saw a bad hose, pretty much blew clean off
im just wondering what hose this is, and is it DIY-able. a part number would be great. it is in the front of the engine and goes down towards the passenger side, runs along the front of the block in between the radiator mind you i figured i may have had a slow leak (especially iwth the amount of sludge i see up there) and the car had a low coolant light a few weeks ago. but i filled it up, did the bleed procedure, and the car was fine, driving over 100 miles a day. thanks in advance. |

i think it may be the "top thermostat hose"?
http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E90-325...Hoses/ES25110/ after close inspection i see the hose has that same connection. but im not 100% sure if that is the correct part. |

Just go to realoem.com. Plug in the last 7 digits of your VIN. Your car will come up. The drill down to the "Radiator" section and look up the hose. They have really good drawings on all the hoses. Not knowing what car you have, I think it is hose P/N11537541992 if you have a 335i.

but it was the part I posted from ecs, picked it up from my local stealership for about 5 bucks more than ecs... pretty easy swap. after venting and everything fan comes on full steam once car is running. im guessing its water pump time. |
