M-Sport Steering Wheel Trim

Hi everyone,

Simple question, will an M-Sport steering wheel trim fit an SE Sport steering wheel (as standard fitted to the 335i).

I want to get my standard sport steering wheel retrimmed with perforated leather and made thicker, then get the M-sport trim and attach it.

Sound plausible?

Should do, there is only a slight difference in shape and the fittings are the same. I have a sport trim on an m sport wheel.

Why not just change the steering wheel? I'm considering changing my se steering wheel for an m sport one

Because good condition MSport wheels with paddle shifters are about £450.

However a professional retrim is about £120 and the trim about £40 for something that will look identical and have tristitched colour stitching too which is nice.

If I had a manual car or didn't need the paddles, buying a M Sport wheel from ebay would have been a complete no brainer because they're only about £100!! Grrrr

for my Sport steering wheel.

Different shape mate. Don't think it will work.

Why not get it trimmed with the wheel?
It would look well with leather or a carbon film

Would your paddles not transfer to an M-Sport wheel?

ok, the trim fits but not perfectly. All the holes for where the trim fits into the wheel are fine however, the trim does not cover the entire wheel with a small section between the 'spokes/arms' below the buttons ever so slightly wider than the trim. That being the case I wouldn't fit the m sport trim to the sport wheel but for reference, the sport trim looks fine on the m sport wheel.

Drag this one back up!

Anyone who has swapped Sport to M Sport, whats it like? Interested in the feel in the hands than the look!

I'm guessing its slightly smaller radius and a bit thicker?

Cool thank you, just been speaking to Royal Steering Wheels who can pad mine out and retrim it nicely. Also sells retrrimed m sport wheels aswell. Could be a tough decision ahead!!

I had the same sport steering wheel on my 335d. Swapped it over for the m3 tri colour stitch and m3 paddles. Cost me £220 on eBay and fits perfect.
