Don't patch things fix them.

Don't patch things fix them.
To many try to fix things by adding a sub.
By the way are you happy with the Dension?
What are Hertz 3 way components do they have
under seats?

Not happy with the dension yet because it's not been coded. I would say I will be as all I wanted was to be able to control an iPod from the nav unit, it has the old style connector which you can get the adapter connection to convert to the lightening connection but then I'd still have to connect it every time I get I'm the car but I happened to have an iPod video in the drawer that's not been used in ages so that's perfect it will live in the glove box and my phone will connect as it always has via Bluetooth.

The 3 way components are these ones - http://caraudiosecurity.com/esk163l-...5cm-components

The place has advised about running in etc but I honestly can't see the sound improving much but we'll see in a week or so.

Yes they have under seats but I recommend you DON'T get them if you want a decent setup.

You should get in touch with makkann00

You should get in touch with makkann00
He is the go to guy in London and has a lot of experience
with these things. Both stereo and coding.

See the UK sub board.

There are not many stereo shops that know how to do a BMW
right in any country apparently.

dude the Denison has more features so probably worth while, but reading all you posts...

if as you say you have idrive and Bluetooth, you SHOULD already have the BMW MULF2 unit in the boot which is what supports the USB audio Option (BMW call 6FL) which you started off asking about.

European spec cars use the MULF 2 for either or both of the USB audio and basic Bluetooth phone connectivity. It gets fitted if you select options 644 or 6FL

What the BM one won't do is stream music over Bluetooth

As for Audio, I'm thinking all it needs is a basic sub in the boot. I did the amp upgrade (JL600/6) but its not much help I bought a nasty self powered sub for 120 and that fixes far more of the ills the car has as std. If that doesn't work throw it all away rewire the car with decent cabling spend 2k and fit anything that never went near a standard BMW. They haven't got a clue.

That sucks I would have been happy with that rather than the gateway.

My thoughts you are going too fast...

Food for thought:
1) I've never found any forum search tool to be much (any) use.
2) Go slowly and try to do your best before hand. So when asking questions you provide as much info at the start as possible.
3) Expect no help back whatsoever
4) Never expect to find a tutorial / post that has all the info written in a way a layman can interpret.
5) Many experts either haven't a clue, don't care or its so technically complex they forget some of the noddy stuff a first time knob needs to know

I just got Bluetooth working on mine. I had 6FL but no wires for the mic or antenna for the 644 option (absolutely madness on BMW's behalf). I spent 4 weeks reading forums and watching youtube clips. Then trying to get people to do the job for money !!! In the end I worked out enough of what's going on I did it myself.
